Director Huddleston shared details of the District Area 6 Meeting, Legislative Committee Meeting, and the upcoming General Assembly in September.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

First Reading of Policy 4260 - Use of School Facilities

Director Stuart questioned the descriptions of the levels in the policy and fee schedule. Asha Riley will review and make any corrections before this policy comes back for second reading at the next regular board meeting.

Discussion of Reconsideration of Approval of Anya’s Ghost

The directors had a discussion after providing their individual options regarding the book. Questions were asked about the committee process.

Director Huddleston made a motion to move this discussion item to an action item. Director Guthrie seconded.

June Work Session Topic

The board decided to have a “deep-dive” into Policies 1400, 4220, and 1620 and include a discussion of how the board and superintendent team can engage more effectively with the community at the June 8th work session meeting.

Discussion of Summer Board Meeting Schedule

The board agreed to cancel the July 13th work session and only hold one regular board meeting in July. There was also a proposal to move the July 27th meeting to July 20th. This will be discussed at a later date to include Director Wray and Superintendent Green.
