President Watts called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS

Director Stuart asked Superintendent Green for an update on the Woodland Middle School roof. Michael Green shared that a portion of the needed funds are set aside in the capital projects fund, and Brian Wrigley is currently working on patching the roof as needed, and these patches seem to be working. In the event of a second failed levy vote, the district plans to do the work in phases.  This is more expensive than a full replacement at one time but will preserve the asset better than doing nothing.  Director Stuart requested more information on phased replacement versus patching. 

Director Stuart shared that she attended the staff versus student basketball game and Woodland Middle School, which was a fantastic event. 

Director Huddleston provided a legislative update.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Director Huddleston asked a few questions on the Human Resources & Safety Report and shared that she would like to continue to see the HR Hot Topics in the future. She also was pleased to get the safety updates from the Facilities Report.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Board Retreat Planning

The directors agreed to hold a board retreat on April 22nd or May 13th. The topic will be a deeper dive into improving school board effectiveness and the relationship between the board and the superintendent.
