April 28, 2022, 6:15 p.m.
Regular Meeting-Woodland High School Room 2203 and Zoom Video Conference

MEMBERS PRESENT IN PERSON

 

Janice Watts, Jeff Wray, Sarah Stuart, Trish Huddleston, Tom Guthrie, Brooklynn Donald-Student Representative, Michael Green-Board Secretary, and Nicole Galloway-Recording Secretary.

OTHERS PRESENT IN PERSON

Stacy Brown, Tim Shay, Woody Dudley, Bill Youngren, and Donna Butler.

OTHERS PRESENT VIA ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCE

Andrea Edwards, Vicky Barnes, and Tim & Sarah Mullikin.

CALL TO ORDER

President Watts called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

President Watts recessed the meeting into an executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) and RCW 42.30.110(1)(f/g) at 6:15 p.m.  President Watts reconvened the meeting at 6:35 p.m.

 

CITIZENS REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS

There were none.

REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS

Director Huddleston asked if the upcoming school board meeting agenda could be published earlier to give her extra time to review the contents.

She also noted the recent equity training she attended as very useful.

Director Wray attended the friend of the library event and mentioned how successful it was.

Woodland Public Schools Participation in the Wahkiakum Lawsuit

Director Wray made a motion to move forward to join the lawsuit and contribute $5000.00 toward the lawsuit. Director Guthrie seconded.

Board Work Session Planning

The directors reviewed the draft calendar that Superintendent Green created. They also provide a list of additional topics like community involvement, communication, family supports, levy, and more. Superintendent Green will revise the draft calendar and bring it back to the directors for review.

First Reading of Policy 3420 Anaphylaxis Prevention and Response

With no objection from the board, this policy will be presented for second reading and approval at the next board meeting.

Recording of School Board Meetings

Director Huddleston made a motion to audio record all regular business meetings and the board will revisit the process after one year. Director Wray seconded.
