CALL TO ORDER
President Watts called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.
CITIZENS REQUEST TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Patricia Donald thanked the board for all their hard work. Whitney Raab was asking the board to look into the book selections in classroom libraries to make sure they are age appropriate. She also spoke about critical race theory. Ashley Schang and Brioni Sixberry talked about the new DOH guideline and the benefits to natural immunity.
REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY THE BOARD MEMBERS
Director Wray asked about the new DOH guideline. Superintendent Green informed the board that the district implemented the 7/10 quarantine today.
Director Watts wanted to make sure that all changes were posted to the district website.
Director Stuart shared that she was in the process of drafting a letter to the community and asked if the other directors could provide feedback.
REPORTS TO THE BOARD
Student Representative Brooklynn Donald and classmate Jaylee Graham presented updates from Woodland High School.
Director Graham asked some clarifying questions on the teaching and learning report regarding state testing. She also asked about the needs for classified paras and what the district plans were to recruit new hires.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Planning for November Meeting
The directors are driving to the WSSDA Conference on the evening of November 18th, so it was decided to move the November 18th meeting to 2:00 pm via Zoom only.
First Reading of Revision to Policy 3220 and 5400 and New Policy 3411
With no objections, this policy will be presented at next month’s meeting for second reading and approval.
