Because of scheduling conflicts for some school directors, a request has been made to shift the regular board meeting and workshop meetings from Wednesday to Thursday on an ongoing basis. Board policy 1400 has been modified to reflect this change.
Typically the board approves amendments, changes, and new policies after two or more readings of those policies. Board Policy 1310 provides: "In the event that immediate action on a proposed policy is necessary, the motion for its adoption will provide that immediate adoption is in the best interest of the district. No further action is required. All new or amended policies will become effective upon adoption, unless a specific effective date is provided in the motion for adoption."
The board president has determined that it is in the best interest of the district to recommend immediate adoption of these revisions to policy 1400.
