With Director Madsen's retirement from the board, the School board has the responsibility of filling the vacancy for the remainder of Director Madsen's term. There are three applicants for the position. Because of conflicts with work schedules of candidates the board will be interviewing one candidate on Monday and two on Wednesday, with the goal of making a selection and appointment on Wednesday. The new director would then be sworn in and seated at the next regular meeting of the school board on March 23.
The interviews and appointment of the successor director will be in open public session, while the consideration of the qualifications of the candidates will occur in executive session, scheduled for Wednesday.
