Woodland Public Schools introduces Jump Start Kindergarten

Jump Start Kindergarten is Woodland's new transitional kindergarten programWhat is Jump Start Kindergarten?

Jump Start Kindergarten is a transitional kindergarten program for Woodland families with children who turned four years of age by August 31, 2022 and do not have access to high-quality learning programs.

Students in Jump Start Kindergarten will attend school every day (five days a week) for the full school day at North Fork Elementary School from 8 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. and may ride the school bus operating on the normal stop schedule. Jump Start Kindergarten students will learn from certificated teachers and paraeducators with a curriculum that provides rich and varied experiences in learning environments developmentally appropriate to address the whole child.

Jump Start kindergartners have access to all of the same elements of a regular kindergarten school day including access to transportation, meals, and specialists (music, P.E., art, etc.).



All Jump Start students will take classes at North Fork Elementary School and ALL Woodland families are eligible to applyIs there any cost for families to participate in Jump Start Kindergarten?

No. Just like the rest of K-12 education, Jump Start Kindergarten carries to no additional cost to families. Meals are no longer free for every student, however, so families who are eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch program should apply to receive assistance. When does Jump Start Kindergarten start?

Jump Start Kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year begins on Tuesday, November 2, 2022 and classes operate on the same schedule as the standard school year with the last day of school in June 2023.



Which families are eligible for Jump Start Kindergarten?

All Woodland families are eligible for Jump Start Kindergarten, however space is limited.
