A Blooming Success: Woodland High School’s 36th Annual FFA Plant Sale

The greenhouse at Woodland High School was transformed into a vibrant hub of color and community spirit this May as the 36th Annual FFA Plant Sale returned to a warm reception. For nearly four decades, this event has served as a cornerstone of the spring season, and 2026 proved to be another successful year.

From Seedlings to Sales
The journey to the sale began months ago. Throughout the school year, FFA and Agriculture students worked diligently behind the scenes, getting their hands dirty to plant and maintain a massive variety of greenery. This year’s inventory featured:
- Vibrant Annuals: Perfect for local flower beds.
- Hearty Vegetables: Ready for community gardens.
- Trendy Succulents: A favorite for indoor decor.
- Lush Hanging Baskets: The signature highlight of the sale.

More Than Just Gardening
While the plants were the main attraction, the sale also served as a "final exam" for essential life skills. Students stepped out of the greenhouse and into professional roles, managing every aspect of the retail experience. From customer service and sales slip preparation to cash handling and register management, the students gained hands-on experience in running a small business.

Investing in the Future
The impact of the sale extends far beyond the month of May. All proceeds from the event are funneled directly back into the WHS FFA and Agriculture programs. These funds are vital for providing students with opportunities that extend outside the classroom, including:
- Regional and state-level FFA competitions.
- Leadership development workshops.
- Educational field trips that explore the diverse world of modern agriculture.

A Heartfelt Thank You
The success of the 36th Annual Sale would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community. To the WHS staff, the student body, and the local residents who filled their carts—thank you. Your support ensures that our Agriculture program continues to grow as vibrantly as the plants we sell.
