Dear Woodland families,
We are aware of rumors spreading on the TikTok social media platform that refer to a possible threat to school safety on Friday, December 17. These rumors, which appear to stem from TikTok videos, are circulating nationwide and contain a vague threat against all schools in the United States, not specific to those schools within Woodland Public Schools.
While we do not believe that there is a credible threat to our schools, we are monitoring the situation closely and taking it seriously. Even non-credible threats can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety for our students, families, and staff.
Please have conversations with your child about online safety. If you or your child become aware of any potential threat posted to social media or anywhere else, please notify a school staff member or trusted adult right away.
As always, thank you for your support and trust as we work to ensure a safe, secure, and positive learning environment for our students.
Sincerely,
Woodland Public Schools
