Get Ready to Make Some Noise! Pep Band Returns to Football Games

Band

After a two-year hiatus, our school's Pep Band is making a triumphant return to the football field, ready to bring back the rhythm and energy we've all missed! This exciting comeback is thanks to the recent levy funds and the dedication of our new band director, Gordon Williford, and a group of enthusiastic student volunteers.

For the past two seasons, the sidelines have been quieter than usual. With a single music teacher stretched between both choir and band, the Pep Band was temporarily put on hold. But the return of levy funding has allowed our music department to grow, bringing in a second teacher and new opportunities for our students. Mr. Williford is thrilled to be here, saying he's excited to be in a community that truly supports its schools and students.

Drum Line

While we've missed the full band, we've had a strong dose of school spirit thanks to student Cameron Conditt. For the last two years, he has organized the Drum Line to bring its beat to the games. Now, with the full Pep Band joining in, the atmosphere is about to get even better. Middle school band students are also invited to join in. Mr. Williford wants them to be excited about the future, and student Jaida agrees. "I’m so excited for the freshmen this year to have the experience of playing at a football game!"

Be sure to come out and support our football team as the Woodland Beavers take on Hockinson! The Pep Band and Drum Line will be there!
