Mission Statement of Woodland’s Comprehensive Counseling Program

The mission of Woodland School District counseling program is to provide comprehensive, developmental counseling, addressing academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. In partnership with other educators, parents/guardians, and community members we seek to develop in each and every student an understanding of the importance of hard work and how performance, effort, and decisions directly affect educational and career opportunities. We encourage and support each student in maximizing his or her potential and becoming a productive, contributing member of society.

MRS. DEE RAY

5th and 8th Grade Counselor

Mrs. Dee Ray is the school counselor for students in 5th and 8th grade. The counselors’ offices are located in the WMS office in the green hallway. Many of you will recognize me, Mrs. Ray, from WIS or Yale Elementary. I've also served as school counselor at WPS, WMS, and WHS. I look forward to continued collaboration with students, families, and staff. Counselors can also provide information about many community agencies.

Mr. Garrett DeGraaff

6th and 7th Grade Counselor

My name is Garrett DeGraaff and this is my fourth year at Woodland Middle School. I graduated from Eastern Washington University with my bachelor’s degree and from George Fox University with my master's degree in School Counseling. Personally, I love to play or watch any sport you can think of and I love spending time with my wife, 3 year old son (Dawson), and 1 year old daughter (Olivia). I am excited to build on the last three years and continue to form great relationships with staff, students, and parents!
