About TEAM High School

TEAM ClassroomTEAM High School was established in 1997 as an alternative school for students to earn a diploma from Woodland School District. This diploma is the same diploma students earn from Woodland High School.

At TEAM, we use Apex Learning, a computer-based program that can be accessed from any internet-connected computer. Every student has a "Written Student Learning Plan" (WSLP) that is individualized for them. Students come to TEAM for a minimum of in-person attendance (unless otherwise noted in their weekly report), and do the majority of schoolwork at home each week. Students are welcome to attend more in-person hours per week, as needed.

The TEAM facility is open Tuesdays through Fridays, 8 am to 5 pm; we have found that this range of availability accommodates many students' work and family schedules. Students are expected to bring their charged Chromebook and chargers with them to school, along with any note-taking materials. On Mondays, TEAM staff reach out to all students and families to ensure students are adequately progressing in their courses, and make a plan if they need more support. Students may also come into TEAM for limited hours on Mondays by appointment by emailing their case managers.

In-person learning is offered Tuesday-Friday. Students are expected to complete 30 hours' worth of schoolwork each week, including 1 or more hours in the classroom at a minimum to earn a high school diploma.

The principal at TEAM High School is Dr. Phil Pearson. TEAM has two certificated teachers, Liz Vallaire and Jillian Domingo, and two Program Specialists, Mary Ann Sturdivan and Cyndy Grayson.

TEAM High School is located at 759 Third Street, in the portable classroom across from Lewis River Academy, next to the Business Services portable building. If you are interested in attending TEAM High School, contact our District Registrar, Deena Capen, at 360-841-2707 or email capend@woodlandschools.org. TEAM is available for both "in district" and "out of district" students. If a student is not a resident of Woodland School District, they may attend TEAM High School with a "Choice Transfer" form completed and on file with our District Registrar, Deena Capen, prior to enrollment.
