RE: Athletics Report
As you are aware, I, along with Phil and Mike, have assumed responsibility for all athletics. At this time, we are still unpacking what needs to be done and who is taking on each critical role/task.
Generally speaking, we have determined that I will handle the management side of things working with the other ADs, the schedules, and other logistics, while Mike and Phil manage the daily operational type things. If issues arise with athletes, coaches, or parents, Mike and Phil will be the first to respond and support. If a big decision needs to be made, we are working together to make them.
Someone used an analogy that we are jumping in feet first and head first. In this instance, we just don’t know yet if we’re doing a cannonball and making a splash, or a belly flop and making a spectacle. In either case, we are all in the deep end of the pool, trying to keep our heads above water.
We are all enjoying getting to know the athletes and coaches better. We are especially looking forward to the upcoming homecoming football game on October 13th against Hudson’s Bay. We hope to see you there!
