Re: CTE Board Report
FLORAL:
The floral students were excited to once again offer a full, in-person Valentine's Day with all the bells and whistles. They created flyers, social media posts, emails, and announcements, provided materials for the Beaver Broadcast, created a window display and sales table display, as well as created order forms and sales slips. Our advanced students designed mock arrangements for all the advertising and acted as team leaders for the Floral 2 students.
Here are a few of the beautiful bouquets they marketed and sold.

Horticulture students are hard at work in the greenhouse preparing for the annual plant sale. It's production season! Advanced Horticulture students have harvested their final hydroponics crops and have switched gears to plant sale management. They have chosen May 5 and 6 as the plant sale dates this year, more information to follow.
The career choices students are in the thick of creating their lean business plans in preparation for their "Shark Tank" proposal to the class. Five projects will be selected and developed this semester with the goal of creating feasible post-graduation entrepreneurial opportunities.
CONSTRUCTION TRADES:
The Construction Trades class has been building several projects:
You may have recently read that the Automotive Class is auctioning off our repaired VW Jetta this month. You can read the full article here. Woodland's CTE Students fixed up a car that will be auctioned on February 17th
The Automotive classes have also started learning about 12-volt wiring and how to wire a basic circuit.
APPLIED MATH:
Applied Math starts 2nd Semester. They are creating small electrical circuits to learn electrical wiring basics. This leads us to wiring up a solar-electric car. We also look forward to a field trip to AmFor Electronics, a wiring harness manufacturer in Portland. During this unit, students also look at the cost of electricity in their homes, using Ohm's Law and Cowlitz PUD current rates.
