CALL TO ORDER
President Watts called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Recognition of Student Board Representative Brooklynn Donald
The directors and Superintendent thanked Brooklynn for her two years of service and gave her a certificate and a thank-you gift.

Director Wray moved to approve the consent agenda.

WORKSHOP
Board Operations and Communications
The directors and Michael Green reviewed policies and procedures to help optimize its functioning to better service the district, students, and community. The policies reviewed were 1620/1620P The Board-Superintendent Relationship, 1400 Meeting Conduct, Order of Business and Quorum, and 1240 Committees. The changes and additions to the policies will be presented at the next meeting for first reading.
The board tabled the discussion of adding an agenda item: Citizen Request to Address the Board on Agenda Items.
Lastly, due to the meeting length, the directors agreed to move the review of policies 4220/4220P and 4000 to the next meeting on June 22, 2023.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON WORK SESSION TOPIC
There were none.
RECESS
President Watts recessed the meeting at 8:10 p.m. to enter into an executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(g). The executive session is expected to last one hour, with no action to follow.
