WORKSHOP
EP&O Levy Planning
The directors discussed the EP&O Levy, and they decided that they would like to run a levy in February 2024. They would like the following before making the decision on the amount and term.
Cody Krieger mentioned it would be a great idea to speak to the Woodland High School students about what a levy is, how it works, what was cut, and what may be cut if it doesn’t pass again.
Legislative General Assembly
As the legislative representative, Director Huddleston led the discussion and review with the other directors of the WSSDA positions. All input was given so Director Huddleston can vote on the board’s behalf at the upcoming general assembly on September 30th & October 1st.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON WORK SESSION TOPIC
Kayla Field commented that many voters were a no because teachers are working against parents rather than working with them.
Darcy Billingsley would like to see where the spending is going rather than the cut amounts.
Sahara McPoland would like to see visual charts of where the money is going. She also likes Cody’s idea about educating the high school students about levies because some high school seniors will be registered voters.
Whitney Raab talked about how the community needs more information and that all questions from the community need to be answered.
One of the discussed positions pertaining to curriculum, Kayla Field mentioned that teacher freedom of curriculum needs to be watched by the administration.
Darcy Billingsley thanked Director Huddleston for all your work with the legislative general assembly.
