The board holds nine workshops during the course of the school year. Typically, the August Workshop is focused on the budgets for the fiscal year and October has typically been used for learning about the progress toward board goals and the district and school improvement plans, leaving seven workshops open.
Given that this is a school board election year and we will have one or two new members of the school board who will be seated in December, it may be hasty to plan work sessions for the entire year at this juncture.
I am proposing, for discussion, the following schedule for September through January:
September 14, 2023: Planning for EP&O Levy: Timing, amount, timelines, etc.
Preparation for Legislative General Assembly
October 12, 2023: Performance Update and School/District Improvement Plans
January 11, 2024: "Board 101" a review of 1000 series policies and select WSSDA publications.
