With the failure of voters to renew the expiring EP&O levy, the school district must reduce its expenditures by approximately $6,000,000 during the calendar year 2024. This will impact both the 2023-2024 and the 2024-2025 school years. In March, the board identified reductions that will come close to the amount needed to account for the revenue loss in 2023-2024.
As the probability of levy loss became clear, the administrators began actively reviewing the impacts on the program and have made some modest adjustments from the original board-designated reductions to the program in order to make necessary reductions while maintaining quality support for students.
The Superintendent will review the plan based on the initial cuts identified by the school board.
