CITIZENS REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS

Darcy Billingsley would like to have the Woodland School District Facebook page comment feature turned on and left on. 

Donna Butler asked the board to review the recent book adoption of Anya’s Ghost and consider reversing the adoption due to what she views as the inappropriateness of the book. 

Andrew Roy also addressed the board about Anya’s Ghost and asked the board to reconsider the adoption too.

Whitney Raab spoke about how she feels the school district doesn’t listen to the community and provided some thoughts on how to improve this.

REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS

Director Huddleston provided a legislative update. She mentioned the house bill about recording board meetings and wondered if that also included the work session meetings too. 

Director Stuart would like to have more information on our truancy program and in-depth data, and she asked that this be a potential discussion item at an upcoming meeting.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Superintendent Green provided the latest update on the EP&O levy proposition, which at the time of the meeting was failing by a narrow margin.

Debrief WMS & WHS Visits

The directors talked about the takeaways from the WHS, WMS, TEAM, LRA, and PIT visits on April 21, 2023.

First Reading of Revisions to Policy 4210 and 5001

With no objections from the school board, these policies will be presented at the May 25th board meeting for second reading and approval.
