WORKSHOP

Identification of Budget Reductions

If the voters reject the EP&O levy in April, the board must implement a significant $3 million dollar spending cut. The board spent three hours reviewing and discussing where these cuts would be made and compiled a final list.

Students Performance Update

Principals Denise Pearl, David Starkey, Malinda Huddleston, and instructional coach Ashley Kleinschmidt presented the current elementary school data showing significant student growth in reading. They didn’t have the updated data for math but did comment that they do have a lot of work to do in math.

Russell Evans and Angela Campbell presented the middle school data on student performance in reading and mathematics.  Students are showing positive growth in both subjects, and Dr. Phil Pearson presented key data for the high school.  The biggest celebration from WHS was the unprecedentedly high number of freshmen who are “on-track”, meaning that they have no “Fs”.

The directors asked a few questions and congratulated the teams for their hard work.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON WORK SESSION TOPIC

There were none.

ADJOURNMENT
