Every five years the district puts the Food Service management contract out for proposals. We are entering the fourth year of a five-year agreement with Sodexo. Each year the contract is extended by action of the board. There is a "Guarantee" section, that provides a limitation to how much the program will cost the district. The loss guarantee had increased significantly over the course of the contract. This is largely due to the massive unfunded increases to employee benefits due to the School Employee Benefits Board (SEBB) program. Please review and approve the attached renewal contract with Sodexo to manage the district's food service program.
