Recently Opera Quest Northwest reached out and offered to come out to Yale to give our students a performance free of charge. Opera Quest Northwest is a nonprofit group that has a mission to educate, enrich, and instill a love of music in all children of our region by introducing them to opera through a lively production that blends classic opera excerpts with humorous interactive script.
Last Friday, this organization sent a group of performers to our rural school and the kids loved it!. They learned about Opera history, characters, voice parts and famous melodies. They then tried out opera gestures and singing styles to be part of the chorus.
We are so grateful this organization was willing to send a team to our small remote school. Many of our students may never have experienced the joy of Opera music had they not come, it was a huge treat!
