SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Superintendent Green presented each director with certificates of appreciation and some cards and gifts provided by the students and staff in honor of School Board Recognition Month.

REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS

Director Huddleston provided an update on the WSSDA legislative work she has been doing. Director Watts shared that she was pleased to attend the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification Update

Asha Riley, Jason Cowley, and Janelle DeGroot presented an overview of the National Board program and a list of teachers across our schools that are currently certified.

Calendar Committee Board Representative

Director Wray volunteered to serve on the 2024-2025 calendar committee.

Board Work Session Planning

The board reviewed the draft work session calendar that Superintendent Green presented. They agreed with the proposed draft and decided on April 14^th & 21^st for the April session.

Revisions to Policy 2411, 3421, and 3231 – First Reading

With no objection from the board, these policies will be moved to next month’s meeting for second reading and approval.

Jake Hall and Shelley Thomas presented a PowerPoint on the transitional bilingual instruction program. The board asked clarifying questions.

Director Wray moved to approve the Transitional Bilingual Instruction Program as presented. Director Guthrie seconded.
