Q: What is the possibility that the levy will be greater than $2.37 in the first year or $2.36 in the last two years of the levy?
Zero! The school board has committed to limit the tax levy to the estimated rates of $2.37 and $2.36.
The only time in memory that the rates were higher than projected was following the housing bubble crisis a decade ago. If the estimates are off or something happens with our economy that would require an increase in tax rates above what is projected, the board will roll back the total collection amount to guarantee that the estimated rates will be the maximum tax rates for the term of this levy.
