Description The Woodland Fire Department Association is offering one (1) one time scholarships of $1000. to be made available to the graduating Class of 2014.

The following are the guidelines for these scholarships:
Amount 1 @ $1000
Criteria
  • Must be a graduate of Woodland High School
  • Must submit an attendance record for all years in attendance at Woodland High School indicating number of unexcused absences or late arrivals. This report should be shown with semester or greater detail, such as quarterly or monthly. (please check with Mrs. Brand)
  • Must show involvement in the community through extra-curricular activities or volunteer work.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better
  • Include an essay covering how you have served others in your life as a developing adolescent, and intentions to continue to provide service to others.
  • Preference given to those entering a public safety related field
  • Additional preference given to those entering emergency services
  • Upon award, the student is to provide documentation that they are registered at a college. At such time a check in the amount awarded will be mailed to the college. Awardees not successfully completing the courses paid for by this scholarship must reimburse the Woodland Fire Department Association in full. Transcripts shall be provided to the Woodland Fire Department Association at the end of the term/quarter funded.
  • Failure to meet requirements 1 thru 5 will result in disqualification.
