Woodland High School Running Start Credit Equivalencies

Running Start students may take classes at the local colleges to “take the place of” a comparable required class at Woodland High School. Students may consult the following charts to help them in planning their class choices at Clark or Lower Columbia.

Running Start: Clark College

Junior and Senior Class Requirements:
WHS CLARK
English 11 or Honors English 11 ENGL 101
English 12 ENGL 102
AND
One other Literature class as approved by the high school counselor
* Any literature class 200 level or above requires FIRST a C or better in English 101.
U.S. History 2 (Junior Level) HIST 147
AND
HIST 148
(*History 146 does not qualify for the USH junior year requirement - DO NOT sign up for this class)
Government: POL 111
Modern World History Choose one of the following:
HIST 128
POLS 203
POLS 220
WS 201
Science (3rd. year requirement for class of 2019 and beyond) Any 100 level or above Science Course from the Natural Science Category.

** Please see your WHS Running Start Counselor for course equivalencies for classes not listed on this document. All college courses must be approved by your WHS Running Start Counselor as a course equivalency to earn a WHS diploma.

** Please note that there are four separate Social Studies requirements for the Junior and Senior years. Running Start students have six quarters to take these four classes. WHS Counselors highly recommend finishing WHS diploma requirements prior to college requirements.
