Kim Miller is requesting the approval from the school board of the following field trip:

 
Dates: June 19-25, 2016
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Purpose: To allow the 2 students who qualified from state competition to compete at the Skills USA Nationals Competition
Number of Students: 2
Number of Chaperones: 1

Here is a informaton from Kim Miller:
 
Our students did very well in Skills USA this year. Seven qualified from Regional competition to move on to State competition. At State we placed 2nd in Early Childhood Teaching Assistant, 1st, 2nd, 3rd in Customer Service and 1st in Restaurant Service. We were also awarded the gold medal for the Chapter Excellence Program. In order to move on to Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky students must be 1st place in the State. The competition encompasses all fifty states, Guam, Puerto Rico and The American Virgin Islands. Carinda Washburn was our State Champion in Customer Service and Karin Taylor took the Gold in Restaurant Service. They now both advance to National competition. They will be chaperoned by myself, Kimberly Miller. 
 
We will arrive Sunday night, June 19th in Louisville. The first State meeting and written test is Monday.  Opening ceremony is Tuesday , On Wednesday there is an early morning orientation followed by a content specific test and then the competitions begin. Some students will have a call back on Thursday. Thursday night Skills USA takes students to Kentucky Kingdom and Friday is a day set aside for community Service projects throughout the city. Friday night is the awarding of gold, silver and bronze medals along with the closing ceremony. We return on Saturday, June 25th.
