Woodland teachers use time wisely to collaborate and plan

Woodland Middle and High School teachers are collaborating to create a Professional Learning Community that spans grades 7-12. Teachers use their Monday professional development time to align curriculum to the Common Core and explore how the standards relate to potential career fields.

In addition, staff has been learning about brain research, how the brain is impacted by different types of activities and what this means for student learning.

“We are shifting our teaching and thinking to create lessons that challenge students while encouraging them to persevere,” said Principal John Shoup.

This exciting collaboration will continue throughout the year.
