RE:        TEAM High School Update

Date:     June 9, 2014

TEAM High School students took the Math and Biology End-of-Course exams June 3-5.  Several of our students came in for specialized help on their own time to help prepare for the exams.  Students must pass one math and the biology and both reading and writing for the Class of 2015.

Graduation for TEAM High School students will be June 11 starting at 7:00 in the auditorium.  Our numbers are lower than normal this year.  Please help us celebrate the accomplishments of these students, many of whom have struggled but persevered to receive a well-deserved diploma.

We received great news in the middle of May from the Clark County Skills Center about one of our students, Chelsea Calhoun.  She received a $1000 scholarship from the Skills Center General Advisory Council to assist in pursuing further education.  She is in the Financial Customer Services program.  She was the recipient of a very competitive scholarship, and like most of our students she has overcome the barriers that were placed in her path to achieve success.  We are very proud of her and others at TEAM High School.

We just received results from the Reading and Writing HSPE.  Good news for some and disappointing news for others.  We have many who passed these required state assessments, but a few seniors that came close but did not achieve the standard.   We are encouraging these students to stay with it and re-test in August.  Some students are just a couple of points away.
