Spotlight Student

Michael is a senior this year at Woodland High School. He is involved in a number of activities in and outside of school. He enjoys running for both the track and cross country teams, playing trombone in the Jazz Band, and working as a grocer in Vancouver.

For his culminating project Michael put on a local 5K race last summer and raised $1900 for the Clark County Food Bank. It’s obvious when speaking with him that running and helping others in some way are both important practices for Michael.

Michael plans to attend college after graduation and is weighing a few running scholarship options while in search of a school with strong engineering and business programs.

When asked what he appreciates most about his time at WHS, Michael replied, “It’s a great place to sharpen your skills to become a leader.”
