WHS student struck by bus, injured but conscious

A Woodland High School student was struck by a school bus on the morning of Friday, September 28, 2018 on Robinson Road between Woodland High School and Wal-Mart.

The student allegedly ran out into the street between two parked cars without looking and was struck by the mirror of the passing bus. The student received a significant cut on the head but maintained consciousness. The student was sent to the hospital for medical attention.

The Woodland Police Department, Cowlitz County Sheriff and other emergency services responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.

Students on the bus who witnessed the accident are being offered counseling services at their respective schools including the option to call their parents.
