Want to make a difference in a child's life?

For just one lunch a week, you can be a lunch buddy for a Woodland student!

A lunch buddy is an adult mentor who meets with their student once a week during a 40-minute lunch/recess period to listen, support, play, and practice social emotional learning skills through fun and engaging activities.

It’s not hard to be a lunch buddy – just be a champion and cheerleader for your student!

Research shows that students who meet regularly with their mentors...

  • are less likely to start using illegal drugs than their peers
  • are less likely to drink alcohol
  • are less likely to engage in violence
  • have fewer trips to the principal's office
  • have better attendance

Lunch buddies must be 18 or older and available once a week during the assigned lunch time. Interested community members can reach out to:
