Do you have a kindergartner starting school this fall?  If so, here is everything you need to know:

If you plan for your student to attend Kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year and have not yet registered,

  1. First Day of Kindergarten for Columbia Elementary and North Fork Elementary: 
    Tuesday, September 3, 2019

    Note: All other students - including Yale - start school on Tuesday, August 27, 2019

    First Day of Kindergarten for Yale Elementary:
    Tuesday, August 27, 2019

    Note: Yale Kindergarten will have early release letting out at 12:00 p.m. August 27-30.
    Bussing will be available for Kindergarten students on early release days.

  2. Open Houses for both Columbia Elementary and North Fork Elementary: 
    Monday, August 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Drop in anytime!)

    Open House for Yale Elementary:
    Monday, August 26
    5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Kindergarten Families
    5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: 1st-4th Grade Families

  3. School Start Time for All Elementary Schools:
     7:45 a.m.
    Playground supervision begins at 7:20 a.m.

  4. School End Time for All Elementary Schools: 
    2:15 p.m.

  5. When will you know your student's classroom assignment?
    Letters with teacher placement information will be mailed by August 21

    Since the number of entering kindergarten students is often unpredictable, adjustments to classroom rosters may be necessary during kindergartners' first week of school (September 3-6).

    While we try to avoid moving students as much as possible, balanced classrooms make a great school experience for all children!
