Report Cards

Reporting Requirements

The State of Washington requires all school districts to offer access to an annual performance report for students, parents and the community. Additionally, the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requires that all schools receiving federal funds shall make available “report cards” that contain specific data in five major subgroups: gender, disability, English proficiency, migrant/bilingual status and economic standing. These reports also include data on school demographics, teacher qualifi cations, graduation and dropout rates for secondary students and school improvement status.

Woodland Test Results 2004-2005

In the spring of 2005, fourth, seventh and tenth graders took part in the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) testing in the areas of reading, math and writing. Students in grades five, eight and ten took the Science WASL test. These results are measured against the state expectations for each grade level, as well as compared to three years of previous district scores for these grade levels. Woodland School District student scores were up in all areas in 2004-05, and in many cases, met or exceeded state standards.
