Woodland Middle School is continuing with the Project SUCCESS program this school year. This program is being implemented at the middle and high schools in the Woodland school district and in secondary buildings throughout Cowlitz County. This program is funded through a U.S. Department of Education Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant. The goals of the program are to help prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and to improve school performance. To accomplish these goals, students will have the opportunity to participate in school-wide awareness programs, classroom discussions, extra curricular activities, small group and individual meetings. The program will provide alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention, education and counseling services to students.

HIV Prevention Instruction
Submitted by admin on Fri, 04/30/2010 - 09:36.Dear Parents:
We are preparing for our annual instruction of sex education/HIV prevention as mandated by state law. Our instruction this year will consist of a web-based tutorial featuring the latest information presented in the KNOW curriculum as presented by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. As always, the emphasis of the lessons will be abstention of all sexual activity. All of the materials have been approved by the curriculum committee of the school district and are available for review here .
We strongly encourage participation in this short presentation for all students, yet we recognize parent/family values play a part in this decision. We respect this and offer parents the option of not having their student participate in this activity.
